ABOUT US
The Lopez Elementary School PTA represents an effective
partnership between school, home and the community. PTA volunteers, programs, and funds support Lopez staff and families, and enhance the Poudre School District curriculum. The PTA also advocates for issues that impact our children to the Board of Education and Larimer County City Council through our various parent groups. PTA officers, the principal, teacher representatives, and standing committee chairs comprise the Board of Directors. The Lopez PTA Board of Directors has the honor and responsibility of protecting and upholding the purpose of the Parent Teacher Association(PTA). Because those serving on the Board of Directors have such an important role, members make every effort to attend all PTA meetings (typically held the first Thursday evening of each month) and all Board of Directors meetings (typically held the third Thursday evening of each month) and are encouraged to attend as many PTA-related events as possible. Lopez PTA General meetings are held in the Lopez Elementary Media Center on the first Thursday of the month. Please refer to the PTA web home page for exact dates and times. Free, on-site childcare is provided for all general meetings for your convenience. Generally, a program of interest to the parent community is offered at every PTA meeting. The principal, members of the board of directors as well as committee chairs report on school news and events. The community is welcome, and parents are encouraged to participate in these discussions. Please note that only PTA members may vote on school-related issues. By contacting any board of directors member, any PTA member may request that an item be included for discussion on any PTA meeting agenda. Questions or concerns may also be raised as New Business during any PTA meeting.
